The Beginning of a Beautiful Adventure

Beginnings are always exciting for me.

Spring semester is one of those things that has me pretty enthused, not only because it gives me the chance to share some really interesting things, but because I'll also get the opportunity to learn some new stuff.

Technology, in a way, represents constant beginning. With new ways of doing stuff, we can always start over. Of course, we would be wise to keep doing things that work, but in our age, we have choices.

What are some things you will begin this semester? What opportunities will you take advantage of in this class?

This week I will begin my 21st year of life I'm also beginning the teaching program and a new job. I am excited to learn the technologies we will cover in this class as I am not extremely technologically advanced.

This semester is my first in the Dual Degree Program at USF! I will be taking two teacher edu. classes. I am looking forward to becoming more familiar with technology, not only for teaching purposes, but for practical purposes as well.

This semester I'm going to audition to be in the USF Dance Ensemble's Spring Show, which is new and very exciting for me. This class is also new, and also exciting because 1) it's my first semester in the program, and 2) I know very little about using technology, so I'm excited to learn more. A very beautiful adventure!

I'm pretty excited about spring semester too. This semester I will begin to take classes that I actually want to take (which is a first): a women's lit class, two teaching classes, a public speaking class, and a rhetoric class. This specific teaching class, teaching, learning, and technology, will be fun because I plan on extending my knowledge of technology. I'll take advantage of this class by incorporating what I learn in this class into my daily use of technology, so I become comfortable enough to use it in a classroom.

This semester I'm beginning an entirely new life in San Francisco. I have lived in Los Angeles my entire life and am extremely excited about the prospect of exploring a new city. In this class, as well as my others, I am eager to absorb the "veteran" knowledge of my professors & acquire modern skills that will help me be a better student, and eventually, become an extraordinary educator.

I feel that technology is slowly taking over the classroom, hence, I would strive to accomplish many things in my class using technology as a secondary tool. However, it is proven that technology is extremely important in todays classrooms, and it creates a more interactive learning environment. Therefore, I would incorporate technology in my classroom through engaging power-points, hands on math or grammar games, and for communication purposes with the parents. Personal communication and teaching students how to interact with one another while learning, can sometimes be difficult with the overuse of technology. Therefore, I will only incorporate tech when needed.
